Who am I?

Once again I am waving farewell to friends who are leaving.

I've made a lot of new friends since I've moved to North Carolina in January of this year - friends at work and friends at church. I've been having a great time with all the new people God has placed in my life. However, it is that time where people are moving away for school and where the call of duty needs to be answered. Time for farewell parties, last group photos, and contact information exchanges.

Saying goodbye is always hard. I think it's even harder to say goodbye to my military buddies. They are going to places where they they will be placed in the heat of the battle. Will they come back in one piece? Will they return alive walking or will they return with a flag over their body? I have yet to see battle, but I have seen the consequences of battle while working at the hospital. It's not a pretty sight.

Until brothers and sisters come back I'll be praying for their safety, maintaining contact with them as much as possible, hoping for their return.
