I am: feeling better, but not up to par

I've neglected this blog for a while and it's time for an update! I've busy posting my experiences in the Army on my other blog. Be sure to check it out!


Health-wise I was down with a viral infection last month. I just needed rest. Then the viral infection got to my lungs. I was hack'n and coughing all over the place. I just needed rest and some stuff to take care of the symptoms. I got a lingering cough, but I'm not letting it affect my busy lifestyle. I'm back to working out, working night shift, and doing what I can to help out at church.

I feel that I'm trying to fill in the time that I have until the "next thing" happens in my life. I'm crank'n up the workout routine, I'm involved with committees at work, I'm planning out events with friends, and I've been getting paid photo gigs. Boy does it feel good to be paid to do something you love to do. I'm liking how comfortable everything is, but there is uncertainty in the air and it's been bugging me.

I need to use this time to train myself physically, mentally, and spiritually. Things are calm for the moment. I'm enjoying it. I'm working on my book list. My running buddy Ryan and I are crank'n up the milage on our runs. I'm working on my spiritual growth with church and Navigators. However, I could use an accountability partner that is in physical proximity rather than contact via phone/AIM/Skype.

Lord, in this time of calm, please direct me in the way you want me to go. You know my heart's desire and ambitions in my career, but you also know what's best and right for me. Please help me to remember Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
