Ahhh the holidays. Where friends and family get together to wrap each other in song, food, and company. Don't forget the tacky sweaters worn at family photos. Oh how those sweaters go out of style so fast...

This year will be the first year that I will be away from home for the holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Christmas is really not a big deal in our family, but Thanksgiving and New Years are important to me. During these two holidays all of the family get together and we celebrate life: the memories and making memories.

My favorite memory was staying up all night at my aunt's house in Pasadena, who lives across the street from where the Rose Parade passes by. We would help her out by "guarding" the spot on the grass median so that the family can watch the parade go by up close and personal. We would have shifts so people wouldn't get tired. One year my relatives got their musical instruments and asked me to do a jam session with them with me on the piano. We had bongos, a guitar, me on piano, and the family as our vocals. We started with Christmas songs, then got into other old hits back from their days. Remembering them singing, remembering them laughing - I miss it.

I'm glad I'm able to cherish the memories I had with family and friends over the years. I hope this year will be just as memorable or even more so than before.

Good bye 2009, welcome 2010!

P.S. I've already made some plans for 2010. One of them is Winter Jam 2010 in Fayetteville, NC on January 9, 2010. I just bought my VIP ticket! *woot* More info about Winter Jam 2010 here.

The line up is as follows
  • Third Day
  • Newsboys
  • NewSong
  • Tenth Avenue North
  • Fireflight
  • Sidewalk Prophets

Can't wait! Third day is one of my favorite Christian bands.
