I'm working on Baby Step 2 of Dave Ramsey's Total Money Make Over. I am proud to say that I have paid of my first credit card! I got one when I bought my iPhone last June. It was at 0% for 12 months, so I figured that I could divide the cost by 12 and pay if off during that time, but now that learned that borrowing is not responsible, I've decided to pay if off completely.
It's a liberating feeling to be not chained by a payment or credit card company. After I clicked the confirmation button I felt like a burden was lifted off my shoulders.
I've got 2 more credit cards, 2 student loans, and a car payment I need to get rid of. I should be able to tackle everything within 2 years and be debt free!!! I can't wait to call on to Dave Ramsey's radio show and scream out my freedom.
And yes I got rid of my 2008 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 SR5. How I miss her so... but she was so heavy on the wallet. Had to cut her loose.
